  1. mediators are usualy local authoritys and kidnappers relatives or friends… often they release video after video , regular criminals wouldnt do that ..and pplz pay especially european union.

  2. How do the people involved determine whether or not to pay the ransom? It's an incredibly tough choice. Pay the ransom – which encourages more hostage taking or not – risking the lives of the hostages. Some governments/organizations say they don't negotiate with the hostage takers but may use intermediaries to negotiate payment. If governments/organizations steadfastly refuse families may be forced to deal with intermediaries to negotiate and deliver payment.
