Abbay Media | LONDON; Ethiopians around the world commemorated Judge Birtukan Mideksa’s first year in Prison and requested the release of all prisoners of conscience in Ethiopia. The events during the last 7 days varied from indoor and out door candle light vigils to town hall meetings. International organizations such as Amnesty International representatives have attended events in the States to voice their solidarity with Ms Birtukan Mideksa and other prisoners of conscience in Ethiopia, and demanded their release from prison.
This events were part of the month long (Dec 15, 2009 – Jan 15, 2010) International campaign to commemorate the prisoners of conscience in Ethiopia, which was organized by Free Birtukan Mideksa Organization.
