Abbay Media proudly announces Birtukan Mideksa as its “Person of the Year” for 2009
Judge Birtukan Mideksa is selected as the “Person of the Year” for her uncompromising commitment to the rule of law, human rights, genuine multiparty democracy and to the unity of Ethiopia and the Ethiopian people.
Birtukan Mideksa, an Ethiopian politician, former judge and leader of the opposition ‘Unity for Democracy and Justice’ party, is serving a life sentence in Kaliti Prison in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She is a prisoner of conscience. Birtukan Mideksa was arrested in November 2005 after the Coalition for Unity and Democracy party, of which she was a leader, contested disputed local and parliamentary elections. Subsequent demonstrations turned violent, resulting in the massacres of almost 200 people by the TPLF security. She was charged with treason in one of several kangaroo trials, convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. Local elders negotiated a pardon with the TPLF regime, and Birtukan Mideksa and others were released in June 2007 after serving more than 18 months in prison.
In November 2008 she spoke about her pardon at a public meeting in Sweden. When she returned to Ethiopia, the TPLF regime asked her to retract her statement; she refused and was rearrested on the street of Addis Abeba on 29th December 2008. The regime revoked her pardon and re-imposed her life sentence.
Over the past year, Birtukan’s imprisonment has highlighted the TPLF regime massive violations of human rights and the abject condition of political prisoners in Ethiopia.

She deserves to be selected as person of the year since she bravely decided to defend the rule of law by not submitting to woyanes, demand. But, is the statement quoted above accurate? Bending the truth for any purpose degrade the value of what you are doing.

ባንዳው-ወያኔ ደግሞ “እሺ ሕጉን ተከትላችሁ በሰላማዊ መንገድ ለምትጠይቁኝ ስህተቴን አርሜ የሕዝቡን ጥያቄ እመልሳለሁ እያለ በየአደባባዩ ሲገድል ”አሥራ ስምንት አመታት ጊዜያት አለፉን።አንዴ መታለል፤አልፎም ሁለቴ መጭበርበር የሰው ልጅ ስህተት ነው፤ደጋግሞ መታለል ግን የጤና አይደለም እና በሽታ ነው።በትንሹ አሥራ ስምንት ጊዜ፤ መሞከር ሳይሆን መታለል ነውና የበሽታ ነው፤ድግግሙ።
ታዲያ ብርቱካንን በተመለከተ የመለስን አነጋገር ያደመጠ “እንደእሱው”አታላይነቱን “ከመጨረሻው የቃሉ ውሳኔ” እንረዳለን።በሰላም “ሠላም” የለም ማለቱን ለ በትዕቢት እየተጥመለመለ ማዋጥ ነውና ዛሬም አንታለል።
ቢያንስ የሻማ ማብራቱን ስርዓት ለተወሰኑ ደቂቃዎች በሥርዓቱ ላይ ሻማዎቻችንን በማጥፋት የብርቱካንን የእስር ቤት የጨለማ ኑሮዋን በተለየ መልኩ ብናሳይ የበለጠ የሰቆቃ ሕይወቷን መጀመሪያ እኛው እናጣጥመዋለን።
ሌላው ሙከራ ደግሞ ፤ ተንቀሳቃሽ የጨለማ ቤት በየሻማ ማብራቱ ስርዓት ላይ ማሳየቱ በጅምሩ መበረታታት ይኖርበታል።በግድ ኢትዮጵያውያን ብቻ መሆን የሉባቸውም፤ጉዳዩ የሰብዓዊ መብትና የሕዝብ የፖለቲካ ነፃነት ነውና ሌሎቹም ዜጎች ይጋሩናል።የተቀናጀ ዝግጅት የሚባለውም እድገት እና ለውጥ ሲኖረው ነውና በርቱበት እላለሁ፤ለአዝጋጂዎች።
በሌላ በኩል እነመለስ ለምን ብርቱካንን እንደጦር ፈርተው “የመጨረሻ” ቃሉን መለስ ወስኖ ተናገረ???ምክንያቱም ባንዳ-ወያኔ የሕዝብ ወገን የሆኑትን የሚያጠምድበትና እንደመንጠቆ እየጎለጎለ፤በእባብ ተንኮሉ እየወታተበ እና በእስስት የውጭ ቅርፁ እየተለዋወጠ የሚያኮላሽበት የጭንብል ተንኮል “ሕግ”መሆኑን ብርቱካን ጠንቅቃ ስላወቀችና መቼም ቢሆን ከሙያዋ አንፃር ስለማይመጣጠኗት ነው። አለበለዚያ በቅድሚያ መቶ ሥልሳ ሺህ ዶላር ቀብድ ተከፍሏት ባገር ውስጥ ላሉትም ሆነ በውጭ አገር ለሚኖሩት ኢትዮጵያውያን “የባንዳ-ወያኔን” የዲሞክራሲያዊ
መንግሥትነት በተዘዋዋሪ መንገድ ድጋፏን መስጠት አይከለክላትም፤ሆኖም የዓላማ ፅናት አላትና የሕዝቡን ፍቅር አልሸጠችም።እንደውም ጀግና ነኝ ይል የነበረው ባንዳው-ወያኔ ምንም መሳሪያ
በሌላት ሴቷ ብርቱካን ሚደቅሳ ላይ ጠመንጃ ይዞ የፈሪነቱን መጨረሻነት በብረት አምልኮነቱ አረጋግጧል።ሁሉም ብረት ካለው ጀግና መሆን ይችላል፤ዛሬ ይህንን የማያውቅ ካለ በሽተኛ ብቻ ነው።
ታዲያ መቼ ነው የተቀናጀ የትግል ስልት የሚኖረን???አለበለዚያ ግን ደጋግሞ መታለል ነውና በዚሁ ድህረ-ገፅ ከአሥራ-አምስት አመታት በፊት በየጊዜው የፃፍኳቸውን ይመልከቱ።ይህ የባንዳ-ወያኔ መንግሥት ነኝ ባይ ደጋግሞ ከማታለል በስተቀር መቼም የማይለወጥ ዘረኛ ቡድን ነው።

የድርጅቶቹ ጥረት የመጀመሪያው:እርምጃ ነው።ለፖለቲካ እስረኞች በሙሉ ቢጠይቁ ይመረጣልና ቀጣዩን እንቅስቃሴ ከመድኃኔዓለም እርዳታ ጋር እየጮህን እንጠብቃለን።
ብታምኑም ባታምኑም ስንትና ስንት የጦር ሙያ ያላቸው ሰዎች፣ጄኔራሎችን (አሁን ያሉትን ሹመኞች ሳይሆን)ጨምሮ የጙዋሮ አትክልታቸውን እያጠጡ፣በደህና ጊዜአቸው ያከማቹትን ንብረት እየተቆጣጠሩ መልካም እንቅልፋቸውን ከኢትዮጵያዊነት ዜግነታቸው ጋር ሞታቸውን ያባብላሉ።እናም ይህንን የአጋዚ መንግስት የወረቀት ላይ ነብሮች በልሳናቸው ብቻ ሊያሸንፉት ይችላሉ ብሎ ለማመን ያስቸግራል፤ሕዝብ አሸናፊ መሆኑን ባውቅም።
ብታምኑም ባታምኑም፣ ይህ ጥፋት የመጣው ከእግዚአብሔር ሰማያዊ ቅጣት ሲሆን የሚመለሰውም በእሱ ፈቃድ ብቻ ነው፤ማንም በማይገምተው ፤ይህንን የሰው ሰራሽ ሰቆቃ እርግማን ጨምሮ።
እናም፣መጀመሪያ ወያኔን የምትዘረጥጠው ደግሞ ሴት ብቻ ናት።ጉዳዩ የጀግንነት ሳይሆን የኢትዮጵያዊነት ታሪክ ነውና የዮዲት ጉዲትን ታሪክ ይመልከቱ።
ሌሎች ብዙ ብርቱካን ሚደቅሳዎች ደግሞ አስፈፃሚዎች ናቸው።ሐይማኖት፣ዘር፣ቆዳ፣አጥንት፣ደም፣ድንበር፣አይደለም መለያቸው ኢይዮጵያዊነት ብቻ ነው።
የኢትዮጵያ አምላክ ይጠብቃታል።
