A WALK IN SUPPORT OF ETHIOPIAN WOMEN DOMESTIC WORKERS IN THE MIDDLE EAST COUNTRIES
Center for Rights of Ethiopian Women Youth Group, CREWYG is having a WALK on October 20 in Washington D.C. to create awareness about the slave-like working conditions of our Sisters in the Middle East.
“2012 trafficking in Persons Report’’ on Ethiopia published in June by the US Department of State states: “Many Ethiopian women working in domestic service in the Middle East face severe abuses.” The report cites a litany of violations, “including physical and sexual assault, denial of salary, sleep deprivation, withholding of passports, confinement, and murder.”
